It’s spring time and all trees are blossoming and I just love this time of year. And in last few years we visited couple of places during season and saw absolutely perfect blossoms which will make your pictures look surreal. In this post I will share the best time for seeing the Almond Blossoms and where you can see them around Bay Area in California.

Best timing for Almond Blossoms

California is famous for its almonds so its no surprise that there are so many almond farms here. And they blossom every year around Mid February to early March. You can see rows and rows of white blossoming trees till the horizon and its a scene to behold. And both times we visited different places but went around Last week of February and First week of March. It was in the peak during that time, but do check the local weather conditions as the blossoms vary based on that.

Best places for Almond blossom viewing

You have decided you want to go for Almond blossoms but where to visit where you are not trespassing anyone’s property and following the local rules too. For many farmers Almond farming is their job and many farms also don’t allow visitors, so please be mindful of that. So the best option I find is when local communities promote almond blossom viewing and have a plan called ‘Almond cruise’. They join hands with local farms, restaurants, bars and promote almond blossom tourism. Its a win-win situation for all I feel.

Here are the 2 Almond Cruises you can find in California. You can view their local bloom update, the map to follow to see the best blossoms. The almond flowers are white in color and Peach blossoms are pink in color and are the most commonly found.

1. Fresno County Blossom Trail

We saw both Almond and Peach blossoms here

2. Almond Blossom Cruise Modesto

We mostly saw Almond blossoms here

Apart from these two, you can also view Almond farms in Woodlands near Sacramento California. But we have not visited there so check out the local nut farms there and if they are open for blossom viewing.

When you are visiting these places do stop by the local shops and grab a almond smoothie or their local delicacies. You can also buy different fruits and nuts in their fruit stands. And again please be mindful of the farms, don’t trespass anyone’s property without permission or spoil their farming equipment.

So enjoy your blossom trip and help the local communities too.
