Seven Magic Mountains is an art installation by renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone in Las Vegas. This splash of colorful rocks in middle of Mohave attracts visitors from far and near.

About the art

He created this unique formation and used the art of balancing rocks. There are seven towers standing tall and each tower is stacked with limestones painted with vibrant florescent shades which makes it look so amazing in contrast with muted tones of the desert landscape.

Know before you go

It is on the side of the road and you don’t require any reservation or ticket, its a free public access art work on display. And there is no restroom facilities there.

Please be responsible when you visit there, it is a real art work so try not to stand on the rocks or spoil it with writing. You can spend around 20-30 minutes looking at it and taking pictures. It is a popular spot for photography so there are always people around.

The art work installation has permit to remain open till end of 2021. After which if the extension is approved it may be open for next 2-3 years. Do check that before planning to visit.

Getting there

If you are visiting Las Vegas or passing through it, do make a quick stop here.

From Las Vegas : Follow I-15 S to Sloan Rd (exit 25). Turn left (east) to Las Vegas Boulevard. Drive approximately 7 miles south on Las Vegas Blvd. and the artwork will appear on your left (east).

From Los Angeles : Drive north on I-15 to Jean, NV (exit 12).  Turn right (east) on NV-161 toward Las Vegas Blvd. Drive approximately 5 miles north on Las Vegas Blvd. and the artwork will appear on your right (east).
