Utah has some of the best dark skies you will ever found for gazing at million stars which we don’t see everyday in our city life. It’s no wonder it has several certified Dark Sky Parks. The National Parks got the certification from International Dark-Sky Association. It has the best opportunity to see Milky way and countless stars. So we decided to do an Astronomy tour at Bryce Canyon and it was an experience we will remember forever. I will share all the details where you can experience this in your Utah travel.

Dark Rangers Telescope Tour

We wanted to go for star gazing tour at Bryce Canyon as it has one of the darkest skies which is perfect to do that. And we were traveling as a family so it would be a great learning experience for my 8 year old. We went with Dark Rangers Telescope tours in Bryce City. The tour was very informative with slideshow presentation and telescope viewing. We saw planets like Saturn, Venus and galaxies like Andromeda, star clusters and many more. The tour had all age groups of people from kids to people around 70 years old.Our guides were very informative and answered all the queries with enthusiasm.

It was really a great experience we had in Bryce and definitely check it out if you are in the area. If you want to check our Bryce Canyon full 2 days Itinerary you can check my post here.

Astonomy Tours

For Astronomy and Star gazing programs you can check the following options :

  1. Dark Rangers Telescope Tours
  2. Astronomy program in Bryce Canyon National Park
  3. Moab Astronomy Tours

I would suggest you take the tours as it is a great learning experience. Looking at stars from Telescope will be really cool for kids to try.

I remember as a child we could see thousands of stars from our home even though we lived in a city. But with city lights and pollution we see only few stars in the night sky these days. You will never forget the feeling of countless stars twinkling above you and you can look closely and try to find flying moving objects too.

We had an unforgettable time and this experience made our trip so memorable. Experiences like this happen once in a while and the memories remain etched in your brains forever.
