Maybelline Superstay Eternal Rose,Keep Me Coral & Color Sensational Totally Toffee Lipstick Review & Swatch

So here it is!!! 2 shades of Maybelline’s Superstay lipstick in Eternal Rose and Keep me Coral along with Maybelline’s Color Sensational Totally Toffee.

Review will follow once I’m done with why I went for these shades. And review won’t be like what company says n all… just what’s my experience with the product. Swatches at end of this blog.Now a little insight as to why I chose these three shades. Till now I was scared of experimenting with different shades of lipstick since my lips are pigmented and stuck to the ‘safe’ types like pinkish maroon. And I used only 1 lipstick, when it got over or old I got another one. :-D… i was not lazy but I didn’t care too much about looking different. So stuck to my comfort zone from time immemorial :-). Lately I have become beauty aware and conscious thanks to youtube, FB and blogs. (Hubby may not be that thankful though 😉 ) So I decided why not chose some colors which I don’t own or have applied in my entire life… I got quiet a few shades in my ‘wishlist’. I wanted to have

1. A proper pink shade, no maroons,shimmer,reddish
2. Coral shade
3. Neutral shade
3. Proper red lipstick.. not vampy types but wearable
4. Peach shade
5. Rusty shade

First 3 I am currently having,  rest 3 hope to get in some time.  My main concern is it should be within my budget since I am a housewife now, handling a 6 month baby… don’t go out much. So it doesn’t make sense for me to get something too expensive. And the product should last for quiet some time since when I go out, I don’t get to do touchups as I’m with the baby always.

Now come to the point, why I chose the Superstay range. When I went to buy I really didn’t had in mind what I am going to get and didn’t know about this range. I just asked for the mentioned colors. And I loved the Eternal Rose & Keep me coral. I didn’t ask for the price then, when the billing was done i was like whew… its pricey but I loved the colors so much that thought I deserved some splurging after my maternity break… ( I was justifying to myself, why kidding) :-)After coming back home I looked for reviews on it just for info. And it was kind of good overall so thought at least money is well spent. So decided to try on the same day as I wanted to see how the colors looked on me. So here comes the details.

The Maybelline Superstay Eternal rose is pretty color and I really really love it. Before applying I was apprehensive as to whether it will look good on me and if my pigmented lips wil be shown. But the lipstick from this range is super pigmented and gives a good coverage for the lips. It felt a bit dry and if your lips are dry it will show. The solution is to exfoliate your lips before using (will share with you my lips exfoliating homemade pack) else just dab on some lip gel and then apply it. It is then good to go and will stay upto decent time. I have used this couple of times when i went out. It stayed for 3-4 hrs till i came home and faded a little (may be because I applied only 1 swipe).This color will definitely suit everyone,it is lovely pink and after applying there’s a brightness and freshness in the face (which is very essential for me as I’m now in phase of sleepless nights with my daughter sleeping at 3am everyday!! )This color will definitely go well with all outfits. I just apply a little for the day look or casual look, the lips look naturally beautiful pink. And with traditional I apply a bit more for the color to show.

Maybelline Superstay Keep me coral is a pretty coral shade. When applied on my lips it looks kind of coral with a orangish hint on it. But its lovely and I tend to apply little amount so the color looks natural on me. It gives a fresh look to the face I use it often with casual wear and traditional wear as well. It goes well with all kind of outfits.

Maybelline Color sensational Totally Toffee is a neutral shade. My lips looks kind of washed out if I apply more, so I apply a little amount so that it looks natural as if I’m not wearing any lipstick but at the same time gives a healthy look to the lips. It is very creamy in texture, no need to apply any lip balm. It hides the pigmentation in lips very well. There is one more way it can be used, when applying any other lipstick it can be used as base color and apply any other shade over it. So that it will hide any pigmentation of lips and the color of other lipstick shade will be prominent.It looks brown in tissue paper swatch but on my skin it matches very well.
