I watch a lot of cooking shows and I have heard mostly all the chefs say their fav herb is Rosemary, and I used to wonder how does it taste as it is very commonly used herb in all top chefs kitchen. I saw some non-Indian herbs in Hypercity mall and thought let me try it and see for myself…
I was planning to make roast chicken in oven as it is quite simple to make, no effort required. Just marinate the chicken right and roast it… and tada delicious chicken is ready
So I used the below ingredients in Pic 1… sorry for showing in the containers as I had already marinated the chicken when I thought to do a step by step recipe.
I made 4-5 pieces of chicken for that I used in marinate (Pic 2)
Herbs (Oregano,Thyme, Rosemary) – 3-4 tsp
Garlic – 2 pieces finely chopped (here I have just made slices)
Half lemon juice
Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Salt n pepper as per taste
I marinated overnight for the flavors to sink in. If you want you can marinate the chicken 2-3 hours in deep freezer.
Before you start cooking pre-heat oven to 250 C for 15 mins in Toast mode (pic 4).. I didn’t use Grill mode as I wanted to be evenly cooked without getting too crispy or hard.
Before roasting the chicken, bast(apply) it with oilve oil from all sides so that it is coated nicely (pic 3).
Then in the same setting (as above) cook for 15-20 mins. Depending on your chicken size check in between if it is getting cooked. To check if it is cooked perfectly try piercing the chicken with a knife/fork, if you are able to insert completely, then it is done.
Just to show you in which grilling holder I have placed my tray (pic 5).
So here it is… yummy Chicken roast. I love having it with honey chilli sauce, it complements it nicely.
We normally try out new recipes on weekend and this weekend I tried this one. Try it and let me know how was it…
